The Inovations bought by HMDGlobal(9 pureview)

Introduction : 

 When first time Nokia 9 was teased with the 5 camera algorithm everyone was curious in the mobile industry especially we Nokia fans,.

Thankfully when it was introduced it given some great Inovations which industry had never seen before,

Specifications :

Display: 5.99-inch P-OLED- Processor: Qualcomm Snapdragon 845- RAM: 6GB- Storage: 128GB internal- Camera: Penta-lens system with Zeiss optics- Operating System: Android 9 Pie- Battery: 3320mAh with wireless charging- Security: In-display fingerprint. 

The cameras :

The camera system was different from the crowd as like how other pureview's used to be back in the days . The idea from HMDGlobal was to introduce 5 camera sensors for capturing more detail at any condition with a Tof sensor situated along with these cameras, the 9 pv was intended to take better low light shots and as well as better bokeh shots at any condition, offering better raw performance than the industry with much more details in the shots, if we see camera closely the 9pv had 3 monochrome sensors, 2 colour sensors and one Tof sensor

The Design :

The design appears unique and till date it is the unique design, so HMDGlobal got great design on this as how nokia pureview's intended to have back in the day, this design of 9pv made the phone win multiple design awards from critics.

The thoughts of critics on rest of the specifications : 

Nokia 9 pureview had the year old flagship grade snapdragon 845 chipset along with good ufs storage making the phone affordable than the competition , the front design was considered older by the critics, but it was accpectable considering it's Lower price tag compared to the flagships from samsung, iPhone, pixel, huawei. 

Now let's see what went according to expectations and what went wrong in the Nokia 9 pureview : 

1) The camera performed as claimed the pictures taken with 9 pureview had better details, the raw performance was fabulous as well, but there was a probelm and that is the processing time taken by the ISP(image signal processor) to process the images was slower even there was an extra soc for handling image processing from Light.co, but still it was slow many believed that a latest snapdragon 855 could have solved that probelm if HMDGlobal was upto using it in the 9pv, not only this the camera app was crashing if tried to take many pictures at once with depth mode enabled. And solution of this was using a better Soc having better ISP for image processing.

2) The software side things were not going as flagship expected, there were many many bugs in software which eventually got fixed by time but still bugs exists.

3)HMDGlobal unable to create magic with Zeiss lenses because the image sensors used in the 9pv were taken from the budget class, so which introduced probelms while capturing low light images, without tripod you can decent images with some light available at the source but probelm was the competition offered much more than this in the night mode.

4)The 9 pureview lacked optical image stabilization which could have compensate for the budget sensor size when doing low light capture and for a much more stabilized video footage.

5) The 9 pureview was something Inovative which given a new concept to the industry but it wasn't upto the mark for average consumers who wanted faster images.

Conclusion :

The 9 pureview could have been more successful if HMDGlobal had done better in the ISP department, introduction more capable soc of that time snapdragon 855, simply adding atleast one big camera sesnor with ois which could have resulted better details combined with rest 4 cameras. We wish HMDGlobal good luck for their journey towards introducing their own brand and we do hope that they'll continue releasing Nokia branded devices as well.
